How do you choose a set for a new church plant?

Thanks for the answer, Brenton! At the time I asked the question I was toying with the notion of offering, as they seemed hard up for someone, but really knew I wasn't ready to lead worship for a lot of reasons. Fortunately they found someone much more experienced, capable and talented than me, which is good. I was guessing regardless it was a good question for the lounge. Thanks again!

Thank you for the kind words. I am indeed still drumming. In fact the "main" drummer at our church was recruited by the worship leader of the church plant (who, BTW, used to be our worship leader) to be on the launch team so I'm filling in once/month at our church until the plant church launches. That and the whole Aaron Shust experience ( chronicled on my blog if you need a sleep aid :) http://dangross.blogspot.com/ ) actually got me setting up the drum set in the basement and wood-shedding. This is the first I've practiced by myself since I was taking lessons in college. And I'm actually enjoying it! I work on guitar mostly at lunch at work. In fact your New Song Cafe for "Everlasting God" is a part of what's helping me move from "strummer" to "picker," so thanks for that as well!
